Maine Cottages: Fred L. Savage and the Architecture of Mount Desert

Knowing of historian John Bryan’s research on Fred L. Savage, Jan approached him about publishing a book with Princeton Architectural Press. He agreed and Jan secured eminent New England photographer Richard Cheek to gloss the pages with gorgeous images. With the very big budget, Jan approached the owner of the finest Savage house on Mount Desert Island as the book’s patron. Together, the author, photographer, patron, and publisher created a book that was the hostess gift of choice for several seasons and is a treasured volume in Maine homes.
