Sacred Ground: The Cemeteries of New Orleans

New Orleans photographer and author Robert Brantley approached Jan—with whom he had worked on Southern Comfort: The Garden District of New Orleans and Henry Howard: Louisiana Architect—to be his editor and advocate for this black-and-white photographic portrait. Together, Jan and Robert curated the book’s organization while Jan edited Robert’s huge library of New Orleans’ cemetery photographs as well as his lovely narratives of twenty-two residents who are interred in New Orleans. This is a celebration of art, culture, history, landscape, architecture, and life.
